‘I was born in Denmark. Through my family’s influence I was exposed to architecture, building and construction from a young age. I learnt that if you had an idea and could draw it, you could make it. After finishing school I did an apprenticeship as a graphic designer (1987-90) and worked for another few years for advertising agencies and freelance. In 1993 I moved to England and decided to follow my dream and study art. I did a BA in Fine Art at Middlesex University (1993-96) followed by an MA in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art (1996-97).

In 2000 I won the KPMG Art Award Sculpture Commission and in the years following this I did other commissions, which included wall-based installations, light sculpture, and screen prints. I had my first exhibition in Denmark in 1988 and since then I have exhibited my work in England, Wales, Iceland, Germany, Portugal, USA and China. Alongside my own art practice I worked at Middlesex University as a printmaking technician in their fine art, graphics, and illustration departments (1998–2008).’
