Carmen Gracia
As a young art student in Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes in Argentina, Carmen Garcia originally studied painting and sculpture. At 25 she felt the lure of Europe as the centre of avant garde art and culture and left for Paris to find out if she really was an artist, intending to stay for a year.
Her inventive powers seem inexhaustible: she is prompted by intuition, and rarely draws from observed reality. She does however make small drawings from her imagination whose curious and unique incidents will be the basis for a print.
Carmen has participated in over 180 group exhibitions widely spread across the world including Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, USA and Sweden. She has print in museums and public collections across the world.
