Louise Hayward
“I create prints by using wood engraving tools on lino and other surfaces, sometimes in combination with other techniques. My work tries to describe the confined spaces of public toilets or city streets with their wheelie bins and skips. Graffiti in the form of aggressive ‘tags’ or gently scratched declarations of love sometimes intrude into these communal spaces, blurring the boundaries between the public and the private.”
