Tomasz Schafernaker
Since my early years, I have been captivated by the awe-inspiring wonders of nature. From the striking beauty of dramatic skyscapes to the sheer magnificence of the animal kingdom. The interplay of light and movement in the natural world has never ceased to ignite my imagination and serves as a profound inspiration for both my artistic pursuits and my fulfilling career as a meteorologist and broadcaster.
“Punta Cana Cumulus” (2021)
Inspired by photographs from the 2018 Caribbean hurricane season, my oil study portrays a shower cloud off the Dominican Republic coast. Using impressionistic brushstrokes and soft pastels, I aimed to capture the billowing nature of the morning cumulus clouds and their captivating forms against the rising sun.
“Bali Sunset” (2023)
During my birthday in Bali, I was fortunate to witness a breathtaking sunset. It inspired me to create this acrylic, monsoon cloudscape. Through the use of expressive brushstrokes and vibrant neons, the vista showcases scattered light dancing across various layers of cloud with reflections along a windswept beach.
