RE 2018 Show Catalogue
The cream of British printmaking talent is on show in this major group exhibition of Royal Society artists

In a thrilling large-scale group exhibition at For Arts Sake this summer we showcase the cream of contemporary British printmaking.
For the third year running, more than 80 pieces have been selected to transfer to our Ealing gallery from the 138th annual RE Original Print Exhibition at London’s Bankside Gallery, featuring works from members of the prestigious Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE).

One of the world’s premier arts organisations, the ‘RE’ (originally the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers) was founded by Sir Francis Seymour Haden in 1880, in reaction to the Royal Academy’s reluctance at the time to exhibit etchings and engravings. The name changed in 1991 to embrace the full breadth and scope of contemporary printmaking practices, but members of the historic institution retain the letters ‘RE’ after their name.
Its artists number the very best working in print today, from established names including Anita Klein, Mychael Barratt, Trevor Price, Gerry Baptist and Veta Gorner to a wealth of exciting new talent.
This fabulous exhibition spans the full range of printmaking techniques, including etching, linocut, wood engraving, screenprint and more. It’s simply a must for fans and collectors of the art form everywhere. For a sneak preview of some of the works that will be on show, scroll through our gallery below.
